Some number of years ago a friend and ex-coworker would go "missing" for long periods of time. For a while, we had a sheet of paper at work with a movable arrow that we could point at either "Lost" or "Found", depending upon our friend's status. Whoever last talked to our friend was responsible for updating the arrow. However, after a late night of programming, a group of us came up with the idea to write a locator program that would always know where our friend was. Thirty minutes later, the Random Locator was born. It's since been re-written, but perhaps it can help you find something or someone that you've lost as well!
